FAQs
The Alumni Circle and Directory are for individuals who participated in Mid American Pompon (MAPP) events as a Pommer and/or Coach and are interested in helping others (or occasionally asking for help) with college decisions, careers, job searches, business questions, relocations, and local connections.
We believe our shared pom experience helps facilitate instant connections based on mutual understanding, discipline, teamwork, and fond memories of the sport. Over the years, our alumni community has built a wide range of experiences that can be valuable to others.
Mid American Pompon began offering camps and competitions in 1979–80, and we welcome alumni from all eras. If you’re still connected with teammates or pom friends, we encourage you to share this page and help grow the Circle!
Nope! Joining the Alumni Circle is completely free and designed for light, optional support.
By joining, you’re simply indicating that:
- You’re open to being contacted for an occasional one-time conversation
- You’re willing to offer brief guidance, perspective, or a friendly chat when asked
You are not signing up for:
- Ongoing mentorship
- Long-term commitments
- Regular meetings or time-intensive support
If deeper connections or opportunities develop, that is entirely optional and mutually decided between members!
Members use the searchable Directory to find others who may be able to offer insight, perspective, or connections. Common reasons include:
- College or program-related questions
- Career and industry exploration
- Job leads or professional insight
- Business-related questions
- Relocating to a new city or region
- Finding local pom alumni for connection or networking
The Directory can be filtered and searched, and members can also sort by location to find alumni nearby. A visual Google Map is included to show where members are located.
Once you’ve accessed the Alumni Circle, you’ll see a button to “Submit Your Profile.” This opens a form where you can enter:
- Contact and location information
- Pom and school information
- Career and work experience
- Business information (if applicable)
There is no requirement to submit a profile, but the Directory works best when participation is reciprocal. If you plan to use the Directory to seek connections, we encourage you to add a profile so others can find you as well.
Access the password-protected page for the Alumni Circle for instructions on how to update your profile.
The Directory is intended to be viewed only inside the portal in order to help protect member privacy. Please note:
- Do not download or export the Directory
- Do not share another member’s contact information outside the Circle without permission
- Do not share the password with others – even pom alumni you know
If you believe someone in the Circle could help a family member or friend, please reach out as a member of the Circle first and ask before making an introduction.
This page is password-protected for a reason, and we ask all members to respect these boundaries.
To join the Alumni Circle and Directory, you must be 18 years or older.
- If you are under 18 and would like help with college or career questions, we recommend asking your Coach or another pom alumni who is already part of the Circle to assist you.
- If you are at least 16 years old and have a LinkedIn profile, you may also choose to follow the Mid American Pompon Alumni Circle’s LinkedIn Page (per LinkedIn policy).
If you need help, have feedback, or have questions about the Circle, you may complete our feedback form or contact us.
